§ 25-2. Membership; appointment and term.

  • A. 
    The members constituting the Board of Health shall be citizens of the Township appointed by resolution of the Township Council for a term of four years. One of the members may, in the discretion of the Township Council, be a licensed physician of the State of New Jersey who shall be a citizen of the Township. Nothing contained herein shall prohibit one or more members of the Township Council from being appointed to the Board.
    B. 
    If any vacancies occur among the members of the Board of Health they shall be filled by resolution of the Township Council but only for the unexpired portion of the term.
    C. 
    Of those members first appointed to the Board of Health, three members shall be appointed for a term of one year, two members shall be appointed for a term of two years, one member shall be appointed for a term of three years and one member shall be appointed for a term of four years.
    D. 
    All members of the Board shall serve without compensation, except that members of the Board shall be reimbursed by the Township for expenses incurred while performing any function as a member of the Board.
